About Blue Hole Regional Park
Blue Hole is the classic Texas creek swim: spring-fed Cypress Creek running jade-green under towering bald cypress trees, in a 126-acre park just minutes from Wimberley’s town square. The grassy swim lawn slopes down to water that ranges from about a foot deep at the edges to more than 18 feet in the hole itself — deep enough for the rope swings that have made this place famous.
Booking a half-day swim slot keeps the lawn relaxed rather than packed, and there is plenty beyond the water: about 4.5 miles of trails, a playground, sports fields and an amphitheater. The rest of the park — trails, playground and picnic areas — is free and open year-round; only the swim area needs a paid pass in season.
